In this role, you will be instrumental in defending lawsuits filed in New York courts, working in the area of first-party insurance defense. You will research laws, prepare legal briefs, and collaborate closely with the Claims Department to provide expert opinions on liability and damages. • Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery for trials and hearings
• Defend all matters assigned in trial or dispositive hearings

Requirements

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
• Juris Doctor degree required
• Admission to the New York Bar required
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
• Ability to travel as required for trials and meetings
• Excellent written documentation skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information
