Position Overview

The Security Police Officer supports the protection of Department of Energy (DOE) property and assets by maintaining a secure environment and responding to incidents as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site
  • Provide security and safety of client property
  • Prepare logs and reports daily
  • Preserve order and enforce regulations and directives in accordance with company policies
  • Conduct continuous foot patrols of the client property and remain visible when not patrolling
  • Perform responsibilities as an Alarm System Operator
  • Demonstrate a “safety first” commitment
  • Maintain the ability to receive communications and respond to emergent situations 24/7
  • Maintain a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Support a successful security team environment
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and leadership ability
  • Be punctual and dependable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Applicants selected for this position may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 absent a need for an accommodation
  • Active DOE “L” Security Clearance required
    • Equivalent clearances issued by other federal agencies at the equivalent or higher level will be considered if they can be reciprocated by DOE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to successfully complete an extensive pre-employment medical evaluation, including a strenuous physical agility test
  • Ability to successfully complete an extensive training program including non-lethal weapons and firearms qualification (initial and semi-annually)
