We are currently seeking caring, motivated individuals who are interested in becoming certified Personal Care Aides (PCA) in New York State. Position Summary:
Field of Dreams is offering a PCA Certification Training Program for individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and interested in providing exceptional care to seniors in an assisted living setting, including those living with memory loss and dementia.
Candidates will complete a 40-hour classroom training program to obtain PCA certification and then transition into a Full-Time Personal Care Aide position upon successful completion of the course.
Compensation:
• $16.00 per hour during the 40-hour PCA classroom training period
• $18.65 per hour after certification and transition into the PCA role
• Additional shift differentials available for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekends
Schedule:
Full Time with every other weekend and holiday availability required
Part Time is also available
Responsibilities (After Certification):
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Provide compassionate care to both assisted living and memory care residents
• Offer companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement
• Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ physical or cognitive condition
• Maintain a safe, calm, and clean environment for residents, including those who may experience confusion or wandering
• Use supportive communication and redirection techniques when assisting residents with dementia
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and team members to deliver high-quality, resident-centered care
Qualifications:
• Interest in becoming a NYS Certified Personal Care Aide
• Compassion for seniors and a desire to provide meaningful care
• Dependable, patient, and team-oriented
• Previous caregiving or healthcare experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs)
