POSITION OVERVIEW:
The BI Analyst I is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable business intelligence solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data architectures, ensuring data integrity, availability, and optimal performance for BI systems. They ensure that a formal data standard is adhered to and that the company’s data assets align with the business's goals, establishing and maintaining a cohesive data strategy for both internal and external data.
The BI Analyst I is expected to partner with the BI team, senior leaders, and product teams to create scalable, flexible, and reporting solutions that address customer business problems, leveraging Domo as our primary platform for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain data models and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient data storage, integration, and retrieval.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and actionable BI solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across all BI systems and reporting environments.
- Create and maintain connections to various data sources in Domo via API, direct query, no code JSON, etc.
- Identifies opportunities for standardization of existing workflows and developing more efficient processes to support maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for BI development and implementation.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing BI solutions, staying current with emerging BI technologies and trends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, and/or other related roles.
- Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Domo, Power BI, Tableau) and knowledge of ETL processes. Experience with Domo and D365 is a plus.
- Have used programming languages such as SQL for data manipulation. R, HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript would be a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in data visualization, creating reports and dashboards, and working with large and complex datasets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance best practices.
- Proven experience leading BI projects and managing stakeholder expectations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean environment. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping and significant fine finger dexterity.
