  • Strengthen financial governance, controls, and reporting accuracy while improving systems and internal finance processes for scalability.
  • Deliver high-quality management information (MI) and KPI reporting, particularly around project performance, profitability, and commercial outcomes.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk while ensuring strong financial stability across the business.
  • Partner with stakeholders across operations, commercial, and project teams to drive financial performance and support business growth initiatives.
  • Support and develop the finance function, including mentoring team members and improving structure and capability.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior finance leader within an SME or scaling organisation.
  • Strong background in project-based environments, with solid expertise in project accounting, job costing, and margin analysis.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, engineering, or similar industries is highly advantageous.
  • Track record of driving financial transformation, process improvement, and implementation of robust financial controls.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence, challenge, and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fractional, or advisory capacity within fast-moving or evolving businesses.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Benefits
  • Competitive day rate of £1,000 – £1,500 depending on experience
  • Fractional engagement of 2–3 days per week with flexibility
  • Opportunity to shape financial strategy during a key growth and transformation phase
  • Exposure to a design-led, high-end market with strong positioning and ambitious expansion plans
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking working environment
  • High-impact role with direct influence on business performance and decision-making
