In this role, you will support global tax operations within a highly regulated and innovation-driven environment focused on life sciences and biotechnology. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate tax reporting, compliance, and internal controls across multiple jurisdictions, including the U.S. and Canada. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity by supporting direct and indirect tax processes such as income tax, sales and use tax, transfer pricing, and corporate reporting. You will collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and global controllership teams to deliver timely and accurate tax deliverables. This is a remote opportunity within a collaborative, continuous-improvement culture where precision, analytical thinking, and cross-functional coordination are essential. - Support tax operations by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts related to U.S. and Canadian tax activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and assist with key tax deliverables including provision calculations, year-end reporting packages, and legal entity financial forecasts.
- Maintain jurisdictional tax accounts for both direct and indirect tax obligations, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in transfer pricing analysis and documentation on a quarterly and annual basis, supporting compliance with local tax authorities.
- Help develop, implement, and document tax-related procedures, processes, and internal controls in alignment with corporate tax governance frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support audits, reporting requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives within the global tax function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or Doctorate with relevant exposure.
- Strong experience in tax and accounting functions, ideally within a corporate or multinational environment.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Internal Revenue Code (IRC).
- Experience working with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex financial data and ensure accuracy under deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across finance and tax teams.
- Competitive annual salary range: $85,000 – $100,000
