This role sits at the intersection of systems, automation, and support operations, driving the technical backbone of a fast-scaling customer support organization. You will own and optimize core platforms such as Zendesk while building scalable workflows, AI-powered automations, and integrations across multiple tools. The position is highly hands-on and ideal for a builder who enjoys turning complex operational challenges into efficient, automated systems. You will also design and maintain reporting frameworks that give leadership real-time visibility into performance and service quality. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help reduce manual effort and improve the overall customer and member experience. This is a high-impact individual contributor role in a data-driven, AI-forward environment where experimentation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the technical systems and automations that power the Support organization, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across platforms and workflows.
- Own and optimize Zendesk and other core support systems, including configuration, administration, and ongoing enhancements
- Design and manage AI-driven deflection workflows and automation tools to improve efficiency and customer experience
- Build and maintain system integrations to ensure seamless data flow across support and adjacent platforms
- Develop dashboards, reporting systems, and data visualizations to support operational decision-making
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize tools and automation solutions to reduce manual work and increase scalability
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, document processes, and ensure system stability
- Lead independent technical projects end-to-end, including AI automation initiatives and new system capabilities
This role requires a strong blend of technical operations expertise, systems thinking, and hands-on experience with support tooling and automation in fast-paced environments. You should be comfortable working independently while driving impactful technical initiatives from concept to execution.
- 5+ years of experience in technical operations, support operations, systems administration, or business systems roles
- Strong experience administering support platforms, with Zendesk expertise strongly preferred
- Proven ability to implement tools, integrations, and automation solutions across multiple systems
- Hands-on experience with workflow automation, systems troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Experience building dashboards and working with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Snowflake)
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Familiarity with AI tools and a demonstrated interest in applying AI to improve operational workflows
- Experience with tools such as Zendesk, Forethought, Twilio, Medallia, and modern AI platforms is a plus
- Competitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 (based on experience and location)
