Are you the kind of person people call when something breaks? Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and keeping buildings running smoothly? We’re looking for a reliable, versatile Maintenance Technician / Handyman to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for the seniors we serve.

This is a true handyman role! Perfect for someone who enjoys variety, independence, and using practical skills across mechanical repair, light electrical, plumbing, painting, and general facility maintenance.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)

As our Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping our buildings, equipment, and grounds in safe and excellent condition.

Hands-On Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform general handyman work: repairs, troubleshooting, adjustments, and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain mechanical and electrical systems
  • Repair lighting, fixtures, doors, walls, flooring, and other facility components
  • Complete touch-up painting to keep spaces bright and welcoming

Facility & Grounds Care:

  • Maintain interior and exterior of buildings
  • Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, mulching, planting, etc.)
  • Keep storage, mechanical, and work areas clean and organized

Support & Safety:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and participants
  • Conduct routine inspections and report issues before they become problems
  • Follow Life Safety Codes, OSHA guidelines, and infection control procedures
  • Assist with vehicle cleaning, inspection, and basic upkeep

Special projects:

  • Install various equipment as requested
  • Assist with safety, fire prevention, and security efforts
  • Support special maintenance projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred (but not required):

  • Prior experience as a maintenance technician or handyman
  • Experience working with seniors or in healthcare/community settings
  • HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certification
  • Experience with pest control, landscaping, or facility inspections

Work Environment

  • Active, hands-on role in a healthcare/community setting
  • Indoor and outdoor work with changing conditions
  • Occasional time-sensitive or high-priority repair needs
