Merchandise Lead - Prairie Village at Big Grove Brewery – Prairie Village, Kansas

Summary/Objective

Big Grove Brewery’s Merchandising Lead supports the work of the merchandising department throughout the taproom. It includes helping the company optimize sales and profits by ensuring retail stores are stocked with the right products and quantities needed for each item. This may also include stocking shelves, arranging and maintaining displays, pricing and monitoring the merchandise stand. Adhering to the 4 “P’s” of merchandising; Product, Placement, Pricing & Promotion.

Essential Functions

1. Help customers look for and purchase merchandise and other items at the stand.

2. Take and prepare pick up orders for customers over the phone and online.

3. Assist with fulfilling web orders

4. Keep the merchandise store and beer coolers stocked and organized throughout the day.

5. Help the Merchandising Manager with folding, organizing, and displaying new products in the merchandise area.

6. Making sure backstock inventory is floor ready (priced, on hangers/folded for display)

7. Assist in the processing of new inventory upon arrival

8. Assist the Merchandising Manager in monthly inventory

9. Greet and thank any customers passing by.

10. Routine bathroom checks

11. Responsible for answering phones professionally and with up to date knowledge

12. Maintain a clean space

13. Opening and closing duties

Work Environment

This position operates in a hospitality/brewery environment. This role routinely uses cleaning supplies and point of sale terminal systems.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is moderately active and requires standing for a couple of hours at a time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part time position and hours of work/ days may vary from week to week.. The business is open 7 days a week during many day parts. Evening and weekends are likely a requirement.

Education and Experience

1. No minimum education required

2. At least 1 year in a customer service position recommended

3. Must be of legal age to sell unopened alcohol for off premise consumption

4. Remarkable sales and people skills

5. Exceptional verbal, written and group communication skills

6. A passion and love for Big Grove and craft beer required
