This position is to provide oversight and leadership within the anesthesia service line. Position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall clinical and administrative anesthesia operations within the assigned region. Participation in the development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures for service line is required.

  • Strategically develop and execute plans to enhance profitability, productivity, accuracy, and efficiency for the service line in the assigned division
  • Serve as a liaison between leadership team, local operations, and providers to enhance communication, resolve issues, and best practice to work towards company’s common goal.
  • Interact regularly with leadership team and hold routine manager check ins to ensure operational priorities are aligned
  • Personnel responsibilities to include interviewing, training, mentoring and developing managers into emerging leaders
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and wage determinations for assigned division

  • Serve as a liaison promoting collaboration and communication between RCM and other GIA stakeholders (including but not limited to physician office staff, finance, operations, IT) to address strategic challenges
  • Develop and implement operational policy and procedure as it relates to the service line
  • Serve as key personnel to facility or practice operational complains and provide corrective action as needed
  • Support mergers and acquisitions of new physicians & physician practices within your division
  • Actively participate or chair ongoing or ad hoc committees, projects, or task forces to identify and resolve issues pertaining to anesthesia services.
  • Set and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for key functions, quantify expected impact and other characteristics supporting prioritization decisions.
  • Understand and apply disciplined root-cause analysis and conduct detailed monthly operations reviews that are dependent on key metrics to ensure fast, steady progress in operations performance and improvements
  • Develop initiative to increase operational rigor, adopt industry best practices, and improve standardization of work processes
  • Meet regularly with organizational administrators to share and receive information
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.

    Experience: Minimum five (5) years of healthcare management experience. Must have multi-site experience and working directly with physicians. Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

    Knowledge:

  • Possess knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to manage operations and ensure effective patient care
  • Thorough understanding of fiscal management, human resource management, government regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Understand standard processes of anesthesia practices, EMR workflows, medical terminology, and reimbursement policy

  • Equipment Operated: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must have access to phone and or text messaging

    Work Environment: This job operates in professional office environments.

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Qualifications
    Education: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) required. Valid CRNA certification required.
    Experience: A minimum of five years or progressive work experience in a multispecialty physician group model with proven management success. Practice management or health care operations experience required. Experience managing an Anesthesiology practice is highly preferred.
    Additional Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of EMR/PM system and workflows, including best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory program requirements
  • Ability to creatively problem solve for both work flows and business needs
  • Must be willing to travel, both for training and events
  • Must be able to support patients as well as GI Alliance and non-GI Alliance staff
  • Unrestricted Driver’s license required and automobile insurance.
  • Experience in budgeting and practice analysis.
  • Experience in effectively managing teams and facilitating teamwork.
  • Experience in managing physician practice revenue cycle

  • Performance Requirements:
