General Summary:

A Director of Marketing at a $500 million company acts as a senior leader bridging high-level corporate strategy with day-to-day functional execution. At this revenue scale, the role is heavily focused on scalability, revenue accountability, and cross-functional alignment (particularly with sales). They are responsible for managing significant budgets, leading large, specialized teams, and leveraging data to drive growth. The Marketing Director reports to the President of Corporate Support.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate high-level business objectives into actionable marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement annual marketing strategies that drive brand awareness and, crucially, sales growth. This includes creating go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new products and managing the marketing calendar.
  • Revenue & Lead Generation Accountability: Shift focus from pure brand awareness to driving qualified leads (MQLs) and sales pipeline, often by working closely with sales teams to ensure alignment.
  • Budget Management & ROI: Manage substantial marketing budgets (often multi-million dollar), overseeing allocation across digital, traditional, and event channels to ensure high ROI.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of marketing managers, content specialists, and designers.
  • Digital Transformation & AI Integration: Oversee the adoption of marketing automation (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and AI tools to optimize customer acquisition costs and enhance customer experience.
  • Brand Stewardship & Positioning: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels and touchpoints, managing the brand image to align with company goals.
  • Market Analysis & Insights: Conduct in-depth research into market trends, competitor strategies, and customer behavior to pivot strategies as needed.
  • Agency & Vendor Management: Coordinate with external creative agencies, PR firms, and media partners to execute specialized campaigns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, product, and finance departments to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives, often participating in leadership meetings.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Marketing-Qualified Leads (MQLs) & Sales-Qualified Opportunities (SQOs): Volume and quality of leads generated.
  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Total cost to acquire a new customer.
  • Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI): Efficiency of marketing spend.
  • Pipeline Contribution/Acceleration: Revenue generated or speed of deal closing due to marketing.
  • Brand Awareness & Sentiment Metrics: Improvements in brand visibility.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant marketing management experience, often including experience in B2B or complex sales environments.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage performance in a high-pressure environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and using CRM/marketing automation tools to drive decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for presenting to the C-suite and influencing stakeholders.



Working Conditions:
