This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Executive Director - REMOTE. This role is pivotal in overseeing the business unit's sustainability efforts across Micronesia and Polynesia. As a key conservation leader, you'll represent our partner organization to various stakeholders, leading a dedicated team towards tangible conservation outcomes. The Executive Director will be instrumental in shaping strategic initiatives, collaborating with local governments and organizations while ensuring organizational values are maintained. This position involves considerable strategic oversight and the ability to influence conservation practices on a regional and global scale.
Accountabilities
  • Identify and drive conservation strategies and associated outcomes in the region.
  • Spearhead innovative initiatives, such as Project Finance for Permanence (PFPs) and Marine Spatial Planning (MSP).
  • Develop and execute the Programs strategies for new geographies.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners, stakeholders, and regional groups.
  • Establish a sustainable staffing and funding plan aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson with internal and external audiences.
  • Drive fundraising efforts by setting and meeting fundraising goals.
  • Ensure alignment of joint conservation goals with global programs.
  • Facilitate a collaborative platform for staff across different business units.
  • Manage a Board of Trustees for the business unit.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 12 years in a leadership role within conservation or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing results and meeting program goals.
  • Management experience in leading a diverse and dispersed team.
  • Fluency in at least one Pacific Island language and English.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience engaging with diverse audiences including donors and community members.
  • Proven success in fundraising from various sources.
