About This Position
- Expected pay for a Clinic LPN in this position is $21.50-$32.25. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
- Expected pay for a Clinic RN in this position is $28.00-$44.80. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Job Summary

The Orthopedic Clinic Nurse (LPN or RN) provides skilled nursing care and clinical support to orthopedic providers in an outpatient clinic setting. This role is responsible for patient assessment, care coordination, clinical procedures, and patient education related to musculoskeletal conditions and treatments. The Clinic Nurse collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Illinois licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, clinical assessment, and patient education.
• Previous experience in orthopedics, surgery, or an outpatient clinic setting.
• Experience with orthopedic procedures, injections, casting, or post-operative care. -
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of the following: current clinical practices commonly implemented by the family practice nurse, medical terminology, Service Organization and office policies and procedures, all technical equipment used, use of personal protective equipment in compliance with DCD and OSHA guidelines, rules and regulations concerning child abuse reporting and guardianship. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from the employee. -

Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
