Regional Program Implementation Lead at AVANCE San Antonio Inc – Uvalde, Texas
About This Position
Job Overview
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of AVANCE programs, including the Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP), Caminos al Futuro, AVANCE to College, and other core initiatives. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, two-generation (2Gen) services for parents and their children in alignment with AVANCE’s mission, policies, and Core 2Gen Model of Services.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote and model AVANCE’s Core Values in all interactions, ensuring culturally responsive and respectful service in every setting.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of AVANCE’s standards of operations, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations, ensuring all actions align with AVANCE’s mission.
- Implements AVANCE programs with fidelity and provides targeted professional development based on data and staff needs to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Monitors and analyzes program systems and processes (e.g., PCEP, Caminos al Futuro) to implement data-informed improvements that enhance family access, engagement, and program completion.
- Communicate regularly with leadership regarding program updates, enrollment, and challenges across AVANCE programs, including PCEP, Caminos al Futuro, and Early/Head Start.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on curriculum, instruction, assessments, partnerships, and enrollment strategies.
- Oversee data management in partnership with the Assistant Director of Programs, Senior Director of Programs, and Data Analyst, including collection, analysis, reporting, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development of class schedules and assessment systems across programs.
- Develops and maintains short- and long-term plans for adult education programs, including staffing, course offerings, class schedules, and required resources.
- Participate in and represent AVANCE at assigned meetings, events, presentations, trainings, and community activities.
- Lead participant recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts, including conducting home visits as needed to support engagement and program completion.
- Promotes community support, volunteer engagement, and program visibility.
- Works evenings and weekends as needed or assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support AVANCE’s mission and program success.
Education
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Adult Education, Early Childhood, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, Early Childhood, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Experience
Required:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching in a classroom setting with children and/or working with adult learners in adult education, developmental education, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience teaching in a classroom setting with children and/or working with adult learners in adult education, developmental education, or a related field.
Additional Skills Required
- Bilingual (Spanish/English), fluent in verbal and written communication.
- Strong leadership skills to guide staff and program participants.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and public speaking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for building relationships with staff, board members, partners, parents, donors, and other stakeholders.
- High emotional maturity, problem-solving ability, and sound decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of program monitoring, development, and implementation.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Highly resourceful and able to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.
- Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
- Ability to travel to various training sessions.
- Must have dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR check), current auto liability insurance, and be bondable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
Travel
Travel is required locally or long-distance, up to 50% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.

Working Conditions
Mental and Physical Demands
General office and sedentary. Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Use of personal computing equipment.
Maintain emotional control under stress; work with interruptions and deadlines; walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing 10-30 pounds. Work evenings and weekends as needed.
Environmental Factors
Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional exposure to weather related conditions when working in an outside environment/neighborhoods and events.
