About This Position

Description:

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Primary Responsibilities: The Tax Administrator position is a starter-level position that provides a wide-array of technical administrative support work to the Tax Department.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs Firm administrative tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors, accepting deliveries, etc.;
  • Aids in providing Tax administration new hire training on Firm’s systems, process, and programs;
  • Enters and extracts data; creates and develops technical documents using a variety of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases;
  • Compiles and prepares a variety of documents, spreadsheets, and databases;
  • Edits correspondence, memos, and reports; maintain a variety of inter-related records and files;
  • Operates a variety of office machines and equipment, including computer hardware and software;
  • Serves as back up for various staff positions as needed;
  • Coordinates and monitors outsourced client services;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Indoors. Air-conditioned office. Remote work available. Duties require

visiting other sites under a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions, including travel off-island.

Work Hours:

Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Duties may require overtime. Weekends or additional hours as necessary to meet business needs.

Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer applications used in the office;
  • Moderate understanding of Local, State, and Federal tax deadlines, processes and terminology;
  • Ability to review company documentation to complete audits in a timely and proficient manner;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to complete work within a specified time frame.

Mental, Physical and Communication Demands:

  • Requires holding all confidential information in trust and confidence. Administrator should only use, access, store, or disclose confidential information as appropriate in the performance of their duties for the Firm. An employee should comply with all applicable state and federal laws and company policies relating to access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
  • Requires analytical ability, attention to detail, concentration, ability to multi-task and alertness.
  • Requires dealing with situations involving changing priorities, complex issues and maintaining cooperative and productive work relationships. Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Requires sitting for prolonged periods during meetings and at other times.
  • Requires working to established procedures, maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Requires verbal communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
  • General familiarity with office settings required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience highly preferred.
