Position Summary
At Ashley, the #1 home store in North America, as a Sales Manager, you'll lead a team to help customers create beautiful homes. The Sales Manager leads and develops, coaches, and mentors a team of 100 % commission-based sales associates to achieve and exceed store sales goals. This role requires a dynamic leader who can inspire high performance, coach entrepreneurial selling skills, and create a motivating culture that drives individual and team successes.

- Manage change initiatives, new product launches, and promotional campaigns effectively.
Sales Performance & Strategy
- Translate store and company goals into actionable sales strategies that align with commission-based earning opportunities.
- Monitor sales KPIs daily, using real-time metrics to identify trends, adjust tactics, and drive results.
- Coaches and mentors the team to consistently execute the Ashley selling process.
Commission-Specific Management
- Design and implement store initiatives to keep morale high between commission payouts.
- Recruit and onboard sales talent with the drive, discipline, entrepreneurial drive to succeed without a guaranteed base.
- Support resilience by coaching through slow periods, market changes, and customer objections.
- Implement retention strategies to keep top performers engaged and committed.
Customer Experience
- Model and enforce exceptional customer service standards.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns promptly and professionally to protect brand reputation.
- Ensure the team builds strong customer relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.
Operational Excellence
- Schedule floor coverage to maximize selling opportunities during peak hours.
- Ensure team compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and promotional rules.
- Maintain awareness of competitive activity and market trends to adjust strategies proactively.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of team leadership experience, preferably in furniture or high-ticket sales.
- Proven track record leading commission-based or performance-driven sales teams.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to analyze sales data and adjust strategies quickly.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-performing salespeople.
Performance Expectations
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
- Recruit sales talent with the discipline and entrepreneurial drive to succeed. Maintain high sales associate retention rates.
- Drive year-over-year growth in average transaction value and customer satisfaction scores.
- Coach and develop a pipeline of successful sales talent.
