The Opportunity
Columbus School for Girls seeks an experienced and collaborative Director of Operations & Facilities to lead the planning, management, and daily operation of its three-campus system. This role ensures that CSG’s buildings, grounds, safety systems, and operational structures fully support the mission and daily life of a
dynamic PS–12 community.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director serves as a key operational leader and strategic partner to the Head of School and administrative team. The Director oversees maintenance, grounds, custodial services, transportation, campus safety, preventative maintenance, emergency operations, events, rentals, aquatics
operations, and operational staffing across campuses.
The Director supervises the Director of Campus Operations, Campus Operations Associates, Maintenance Technicians and manages outsourced partners for custodial, grounds, transportation, and specialized contractors.
Position Summary
The Director of Operations & Facilities provides comprehensive leadership and oversight for all aspects of campus operations across CSG’s Main Campus, Kirk Campus, and Cynthia’s Woods. The Director ensures that facilities are safe, well-maintained, and aligned with instructional, programmatic, and community needs.
The Director is responsible for oversight of facilities management, preventative maintenance, custodial and grounds oversight, safety and security protocols, drills and emergency response, transportation coordination, rental and event support, aquatics operations, and the development of operational staff. This leader ensures a high standard of service, communication, and professionalism across all operational functions.

- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, operations, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in operations or facilities leadership, preferably in a school or campus environment.
- Experience supervising and developing staff and managing outsourced partners.
- Strong understanding of building systems, preventative maintenance, safety codes, and emergency protocols.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing capital projects, budgets, and contractors.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across a diverse school community.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, or respond to emergencies when needed.
- Ability to lift up to 30–50 pounds and navigate varied terrain across three campuses.

Working Conditions
- Work occurs across three campuses in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Requires occasional evening, weekend, and emergency response availability.
