• The Histology technician prepares microscopic slides of excellent quality from human tissue samples obtained in surgery.
• They perform all routine and many complex procedures involved in daily operations of the histopathology lab.
• Performs clerical, maintenance duties and quality control checks.
• They assist the pathologist with daily procedures and tasks.

Histology Tech Qualifications

• An Associate Degree of applied science or in a related science (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with one to two years of experience in a histology laboratory.
• Worked in a Pathology department prior to 1983 and certified as a histology technician through a grandfather clause.
