Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary Lead Craft Cocktail Bartender to design, lead, and manage a world-class cocktail program that sets the standard for excellence. This individual will not only exhibit craft cocktail mastery but will also be the cultural leader of a passionate bar team, delivering unforgettable guest experiences through both innovation and hospitality. The role is equally about creating exceptional drinks as it is about building connections with guests and fostering a warm, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Leadership & Vision

  • Develop, implement, and continuously evolve a high-end, award-winning craft cocktail program.
  • Create signature cocktails, seasonal menus, and innovative beverage experiences that enhance the brand identity and drive recognition.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of industry trends, emerging spirits, and techniques to ensure the bar remains at the forefront of the craft cocktail movement.
2. Guest Experience
  • Lead by example in engaging with guests, prioritizing warm and genuine hospitality above all else.
  • Educate and entertain guests through storytelling and thoughtful recommendations that elevate their experience.
  • Establish the bar as a destination known for both its creativity and approachability.
3. Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a talented team of bartenders who share a passion for craft cocktails and hospitality.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and pride in delivering best-in-class service.
  • Set performance standards, provide ongoing feedback, and develop team members for growth opportunities.

4. Operational Excellence

  • Oversee beverage costing, inventory management, and vendor relationships to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
  • Establish and enforce operational standards for consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership on programming, events, and initiatives that highlight the cocktail program.

Physical Requirements

This position is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period, reach, bend and lift heavy objects. The noise and activity level in the work environment is typically high. You may be required to carry glassware, alcohol, cases of beer, etc. and use knives and other kitchen tools.
  • Standing for Long Periods: Bartenders are usually on their feet for most, if not all, of their shifts, which can last several hours.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Bartenders need to lift and carry heavy items such as kegs, boxes of liquor, beer cases, or ice buckets, which can weigh 20-50 pounds or more.
  • Manual Dexterity and Coordination: Bartending requires precision in handling bottles, glasses, and tools. Fast, coordinated movements are essential for mixing drinks, pouring accurately, and working efficiently.
  • Stamina and Endurance: The role can be physically taxing, with long shifts that may extend late into the night, requiring the bartender to remain energetic and focused.
  • Repetitive Motions: Bartenders frequently repeat actions like shaking cocktails, opening bottles, and using bar tools, which can lead to strain over time.
  • Good Vision and Hearing: Clear vision is necessary for reading labels, preparing drinks, and observing customers. Good hearing helps bartenders understand orders in noisy environments.
