Brief Job Overview/Summary

The EOF program is designed to meet the educational and financial needs of students who are capable and motivated. However, they may lack adequate preparation and/or the financial means for college.

Students admitted into Stockton University as EOF first-time, first first-year students must successfully complete the EOF Summer Academy before they can enroll at the university. Stockton University houses two EOF programs: the Galloway EOF Program and the Atlantic City EOF Program. The EOF Summer Academy runs from June 28th through July 23rd on the Galloway campus and is designed to develop the skills, character, and discipline needed for success at Stockton. This rigorous program is designed to help students develop their foundation in college-level reading, writing, and mathematics. Additionally, students are equipped with knowledge, information, and resources to help them transition academically and socially to Stockton University.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The Residential Coordinator position is a 5-week mandatory-live on position from June 22nd - July 24th, which includes one week of training. This position will be reporting to their assigned Student Success Coaches and is expected to:

• Provide leadership to the Summer Academy Peer Mentors
• Coordinate housing functions of the academy, such as room assignments, and logistics for move-ins and move-outs; liaise with residential life staff as needed
• Document check-in and check-out procedures
• Create and participate in a 24-hour EOF Staff on-call duty schedule when students are on campus. Utilize campus resources and existing on-call structure when appropriate
• Facilitate roommate and conflict mediations as needed
• Follow EOF and University reporting structure to document any medical, behavioral, psychological, or other student issues
• Serve as transportation point person on a rotating basis with other residential coordinators when transport is needed (ie., picking up and dropping off students to public transportation stations, assisting students with coordination of transportation on home weekends, transporting students to local pharmacies when needed, and other situations as needed).
• Document transports and student illness through Stockton Cares referrals and to immediate supervisors
• Maintain regular communication with the Academic Coordinators, Peer Mentors, and EOF Professional staff
• Maintain a high level of visibility by interacting and developing relationships with scholars when possible
• Promote a strong sense of belonging among scholars
• Educate students on program and institutional policies; uphold them
• Connect students with campus partners such as Counseling Services, Academic Advising, etc.
• Assist with the coordination and supervision of trips and activities, including but not limited to: social events, service-learning, etc.
• Collaborate with the Peer Mentors to plan and facilitate weekend activities/programs for students while they are on campus
• Assist with planning the end-of-program banquet, closing ceremony, and awards
• Collaborate with academic coordinators to create night meeting agendas
• Must be able to work nights and weekends when students are on campus
• Attend Coordinator training; assist in facilitating Peer Mentor training
• Plan, facilitate, and lead daily night meetings for scholars
• Facilitate daily staff check ins with Peer Mentors
• Coordinate ordering supplies and food with EOF staff
• Monitor and utilize the Remind App
• Execute other duties as assigned by EOF professional staff
• Collect and organize social media content and share with assigned supervisors on a daily basis

Training dates: Monday, 6/22 - Friday, 6/26: 9:00am-4:30pm
Move-In Day for Students: Sunday, 6/28 - 7:00am-3:00pm
Program Duration: Mondays-Thursdays 7:45am-6:00pm, Fridays 9:00am-1:00pm
Mandatory Debrief 7/24: 9:00am-3:00pm

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing/able to transport students and other staff members in a Stockton University Vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of the mission and goals of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program
• Experience advising, mentoring, coaching, or teaching at-risk students
• Interested in working in higher education/student affairs or school counseling
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, technological, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff
