About This Position

Team Lead - Adult Services

Job Summary:

Provide supervision and mentoring for clinical staff and administrative oversight of one of the Laconia Adult Services multidisciplinary treatment team, while collaborating and communicating with community partners on program monitoring and development. Provide assessment, individual, family and group therapy, and crisis intervention to patients.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates team meetings in collaboration with the team Prescriber, promotes team cooperation and integration to create effective team functioning and communication and stimulate team growth. Monitors staff morale and addresses the needs of staff performance as needed.
  • Provide individual supervision for all assigned staff. Educates and orients staff to program philosophy/values and goals to ensure understanding of, commitment to, and cohesiveness of program goals and vision.
  • Develops and maintains effective therapeutic relationships with a diverse caseload of patients, develops and implements individual service plans for each patient, conducts assessments as needed, and completes all quarterly and annual paperwork.
  • Provides clinical support, crisis intervention and other direct care ensuring team collaboration.
  • In conjunction with the Director and Assistant Director of Community Support Services, has responsibility for participating in interviewing of applicants.
  • Has general knowledge of the program’s budget and monitors financial and statistical data to manage the program’s costs, revenues, and overall service delivery.
  • Participates in community-based organizations as a representative of Lakes Region Mental Health and participates on agency committees.
  • Understand the philosophy and operating procedures of LRMH and apply them effectively both within and outside the agency.
  • Performs all other duties as requested.
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Required Skills/Abilities:

The individual must possess the knowledge, skills and ability noted below or be able to explain and demonstrate how the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership, relationship and team building skills.
  • Strong management communication skills, ensuring compliance and consistent programmatic standards/values throughout the agency.
  • Working knowledge of diagnosis, treatment planning, medications, counseling and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Is able to establish a rapport with patients and staff.
  • Treats patients and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Takes a person-centered approach to treatment, as noted through supervision, team participation, and feedback from patients and staff.
  • With the assistance, is able to organize and prioritize a workload so that administrative duties are completed efficiently and in timely manner.
  • Represents the patients/program/agency constructively both within and outside the agency
  • Ability to use computers and word processing equipment.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be able to establish a rapport with the patients. Must treat all patients with dignity and respect.

Education and Experience:

Master’s in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, counseling or related field as specified in He-M426-11 and He-M426-13. With 2 to 3 years’ experience in mental health, crisis intervention or medical setting related to substance abuse position. Licensed or license eligible as LCMHC, LICSW or MFT in NH. Must possess a valid NH driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Is able to sustain light physical effort such as frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, or reaching and/or occasional lifting of items 20 lbs. or more.
  • Is able to tolerate periods of heavy workload or excessive stress.
