About This Position

Description:

This position supports the development team by building and maintaining reports, letters, and data queries used across the organization. The Junior Developer works under guidance from senior staff, contributes to coding tasks, learns internal systems, and assists with small development projects. This role is designed for early-career technologists who are eager to grow their skills in software development, databases, and data-driven applications.

Reports To: Enterprise Applications Manager

Requirements:

Skills/Abilities:

· Basic understanding of programming concepts and web technologies.

· Ability to write simple scripts, queries, and UI components with guidance.

· Willingness to learn new languages, frameworks, and tools.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to collaborate with teammates and communicate clearly.

· Ability to manage time and complete assigned tasks on schedule.

· Demonstrated interest in software development and continuous learning.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field;

• OR equivalent practical experience or industry certifications(i.e. RPA).

• Experience with at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, etc.).

• Basic understanding of SQL (MySQL or SQL Server preferred).

• Experience with Git or another version-control system is helpful.

• Familiarity with HTML/CSS/Bootstrap or similar front-end tools is a plus.

• Exposure to APIs, automation scripting, or reporting tools is beneficial but not required.

Working Conditions:

Tarrant Appraisal District positions typically require repetitive motions, walking, talking, and listening, sitting, or standing for prolonged periods in an office setting.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

· Position requires mental dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment with the ability to effectively communicate by phone, e-mail, writing and face to face. Requires the ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to make sound decisions.

· Regular attendance is essential. The candidate must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. The Candidate must have the ability to work well with others.
