About This Position
At AgBiTech, we’re pushing the boundaries of sustainable agriculture through innovative nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) technology. As a QMS Technician I, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring the quality and performance of products that help farmers protect crops naturally. In this hands-on laboratory role, you’ll support QA and QC processes, conduct routine assessments such as bioassays and lab testing, and collaborate with scientists and production teams to maintain high product standards. Essential Functions:
- Assist in essential functions under direct supervision.
- Follow available QA and QC SOPs.
- Assists in conducting QA assessments within the Insectary, Production, and QC processes.
- With guidance from a senior technician, utilize available resources to investigate and identify the root cause of quality issues.
- Assist in conducting QC assessments at specific stages in the Insectary and Production process.
- Responsible for day-to-day setup and evaluation of routine QC assessments including insect bioassays, viscosity, pH, and specific gravity.
- Participate in group meetings and share results from QA/QC assessments.
- Responsible for taking and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- May assist team members in undertaking research experiments to improve insect rearing and baculovirus production processes.
- Accurately document research data.
- Set up and operate lab equipment, prepare materials, perform routine and non-routine experimental procedures, and record and consolidate research data.
- May assist with a limited number of research and non-research projects.
- Tabulates and summarizes data, providing analysis and interpretation of simple data sets.
- Perform routine cleaning of laboratory equipment and assist the team in maintaining a clean and organized lab.
- Coordinate logistics with other departments to ensure QA and QC responsibilities are performed.
- Additional duties, responsibilities, and activities as necessitated by business need.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1+ years of experience working in a laboratory.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. if necessary.
- Fine motor skills for handling small instruments, pipetting, and precise and steady hand movements.
- Manual dexterity
- Visual demand may include periods of time spent looking through microscopes, analyzing data on computer screens, and examining fine details.
