Our MI Report Developers play a crucial role in transforming data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making at all levels across the organization.
The primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards that cater to the diverse needs of operational reporting and management information (MI) activities. The report developers’ expertise in data visualization and analytics enables complex data translation into clear, actionable insights that stakeholders can easily interpret and use.
Working across various operational reporting and MI activities, the MI Report Developers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, compliant output that meets business need. While our data platform is their core source, they are responsible for extracting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources when required to create comprehensive reports that highlight key performance indicators, trends, anomalies and remedial needs. Additionally, the MI report developers continuously seek opportunities to enhance reporting processes, improve data accuracy and effectiveness, and optimize the use of Power BI tools to support our business’ strategic goals. Through this effort, they contribute to a data-driven culture that empowers decision-makers to make informed choices that align with the company's objectives, drive operational efficiency and build agility.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/DELIVERABLES

Report and Dashboard Development: Independently design and create interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop. Implement advanced features like bookmarks, drill-through actions, custom themes, and custom visuals.

Data Governance and Security: Implement data governance practices, including data access controls, role-level security, and data lineage documentation. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Collaboration and Solution Design: Collaborate closely with technical business analysts, senior report developers and the delivery manager to refine solutions for reports and dashboards.

Data Extraction and Preparation: Assist in extracting data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, or APIs. Help clean and transform data using Power Query to ensure it's ready for analysis.

Data Modeling: Support the development of data models by creating or maintaining simple data relationships and hierarchies.

Performance Optimization: Optimize report and dashboard performance by improving data queries, data model efficiency, and report rendering speed. Identify and address bottlenecks and resource constraints.

Documentation: Maintain documentation for reports, data sources, and data transformation processes.
