LANDSCAPER/GROUNDS WORKER at Summit Point Raceway Associates Inc – SUMMIT POINT, West Virginia

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Landscaper / Grounds Worker, you will assist our Facilities Maintenance team in the upkeep and beautification of the entire Summit Point facility. Working as part of a team, you will operate landscaping equipment and perform a variety of groundskeeping tasks to keep our property safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role is physically demanding and requires individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

This position is part-time and seasonal, running from April to October. You will work approximately 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding.
• Plant, water, and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees according to seasonal and environmental needs.
• Sweep, rake, and remove debris from walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including weed eaters, trimmers, mowers, leaf blowers, and other hand tools.
• Lawn mowers may be used after sufficient training and demonstrated proficiency.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and according to regulations and company protocols.
• Assist in the construction of landscape features, such as retaining walls, pathways, and flower beds.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of landscaping storage areas and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Facilities Maintenance team and the overall operation of the Summit Point facility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Perform repetitive tasks in an outdoor environment for extended periods.
• Operate landscaping machinery and hand tools safely.
• Work is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including:
• Direct sun and heat, rain, wind, and cold temperatures.
• Protective clothing, sun protection, and hydration are recommended; safety protocols must always be followed.
• Ability to work independently and reliably while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must have experience with mowing, trimming, and weed eating.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance and safe operation of landscaping machinery.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
