About This Position

Job Title: Engineer I / Painter

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Director of Engineering

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Engineer I / Painter is responsible for performing painting and finishing tasks on various surfaces to enhance and maintain the appearance of buildings and facilities. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching as necessary.
  • Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Mix paints and finishes to achieve desired colors and textures.
  • Ensure all work areas are cleaned and organized upon completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and facilities staff to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance and touch-up work as required.
  • Keep inventory of paint supplies and materials, notifying management of needed orders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in painting or related fields.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift and move equipment as necessary.
