Job Description

VP Communications

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP Communications in the United Kingdom.

This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of corporate communications, brand strategy, and external reputation management within a fast-scaling technology environment. You will define how the organisation is understood across markets, media, and regulatory landscapes, ensuring a clear and credible narrative in a highly complex and scrutinised industry. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will shape external positioning, executive visibility, and long-term brand identity. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, particularly in high-stakes or sensitive communications scenarios. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining authority through thought leadership, partnerships, and content strategy. This is a high-impact position with direct influence on how the company is perceived globally and how it shapes its category.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the overall corporate communications and PR strategy, managing both proactive and reactive external messaging across multiple channels.
  • Act as a key advisor to executive leadership on reputation management, narrative positioning, and communication strategy.
  • Develop and execute executive visibility programs to strengthen leadership presence across media, policy, and industry platforms.
  • Define and shape the company’s category narrative, ensuring a consistent and compelling long-term market positioning.
  • Own and evolve the brand strategy, including its identity, tone, and visual-verbal expression in collaboration with creative leadership.
  • Manage communication posture during high-stakes, regulatory, or politically sensitive situations, ensuring credibility and control.
  • Lead the Content & Credibility function, building authority through storytelling, partnerships, and thought leadership initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, PR, or brand leadership within a high-growth or technology-driven organisation.
  • Proven expertise in corporate communications at scale, including managing complex media and public relations environments.
  • Strong experience advising senior executives on reputation, narrative, and external positioning strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape or reposition company narratives in evolving or competitive markets.
  • Excellent writing skills across executive communication, long-form content, and public messaging.
  • Experience working in regulated, politically sensitive, or highly scrutinised industries is strongly preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align communications strategy with business growth objectives.
  • Confident, opinionated communicator capable of influencing senior stakeholders and defending strategic decisions.
  • Bonus: experience in infrastructure, energy, fintech, or other regulated technology sectors, and familiarity with AI-driven communication environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive executive-level compensation package aligned with senior leadership responsibilities.
  • Fully remote working model within the United Kingdom.
  • Opportunity to operate at the forefront of a fast-scaling, globally expanding technology organisation.
  • High level of autonomy and direct influence on company strategy and market positioning.
  • Exposure to senior leadership decision-making and global industry stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to shape an emerging category with long-term strategic impact.
  • Dynamic, high-growth environment with strong focus on innovation and transformation.
