Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to work in the medical department at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis, MD.

Openings Available: Full-time Day Shift (7a-7:30p and every other weekend)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initial intake screening on new receptions
  • Taking vital signs and completing all appropriate intake forms
  • Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility
  • Performing daily medication passes.
  • Maintaining medication records
  • Typing of various reports, letters, and memoranda
  • Answering telephone and process calls
  • Maintaining the filing system and confidentiality of information at all times
  • Following universal precautions at all times
  • Maintaining a pleasant working attitude
  • Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated

This position provides a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

(Please note that the pay range is not a sliding scale based on experience; it reflects the base pay as well as the differentials offered between shifts.)

Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • Must have completed an approved Certified Medication Technician program.
  • Currently hold a Medication Technician Certification, which is valid in the state where the facility is located.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Can work effectively in a lock facility
