Job Title: Senior Principal Engineer (Embedded Firmware)
Location: Bengaluru, India
Work Mode: Onsite (8 AM – 4 PM)
The client is looking for a Senior Principal Engineer to lead embedded firmware development for advanced silicon platforms. This is a high-impact role where you will drive product development from bring-up to production, working on firmware running on RISC-V based multi-core MCUs controlling DSP data paths.
Key Responsibilities- Lead architecture, design, development, and testing of embedded C firmware
- Drive end-to-end product development from requirements to volume production
- Act as technical/project lead, managing a team of 2–8 engineers
- Debug complex hardware-software issues and drive root cause analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, validation, systems)
- Define system requirements, architecture, and technical documentation
- Contribute to CI/CD, build, and automated testing frameworks
- Support chip bring-up and product validation
- 15+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ firmware development
- Strong understanding of SoC/microcontroller architecture (RISC-V is a plus)
- Proven experience in technical leadership and product ownership
- Expertise in low-level programming (GPIO, ISRs, memory-mapped IO)
- Strong debugging skills on real hardware systems
- Experience with version control and defect tracking tools (Git, Jira)
- SerDes firmware development experience
- Strong embedded firmware expertise
- DSP / Signal Processing knowledge
- Experience with Ethernet/PCIe PHYs or optical modules
- Familiarity with RTOS, Linux, device drivers, or bare-metal systems
- Knowledge of state machines, mixed-signal systems, and lab debugging tools
- Experience: 15+ years
- Education: B.Tech (or equivalent)
- Compensation: Includes RSUs and sign-on bonus
