Our Renewable Energy Services team provides Lenders’ Technical Advisor, M&A Due Diligence, and Owner’s Advisory services across wind, solar, and energy storage projects worldwide. We compete with Tier 1 technical advisors by combining technical rigour, commercial clarity, and pragmatic, finance-focused insights.
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead wind, solar and BESS technical due diligence mandates in M&A transactions and project financing. Based in Ireland (preferred) or Eastern Canada, this role will combine project leadership, client interface, and technical-commercial oversight.
You will lead engagements end-to-end, ensuring BTY delivers clear, rigorous, and actionable advice to lenders and investors. You will also play a key role in building BTY’s presence in target geographies by leveraging your market knowledge and network.
What You'll Do
- Act as Project Manager for multi-technology (wind, solar, BESS) due diligence assignments.
- Lead or contribute to contract reviews (TSA, EPC, O&M, PPA), risk registers, and financial model reviews, as well as other aspects of due diligence where needed.
- Lead client interface, including scoping, progress updates, and final presentations.
- Oversee and integrate inputs from subject matter experts SMEs (EYAs, electrical, civil, mechanical, environmental).
- Ensure all findings are translated into commercial and financial impacts for the client.
- Manage deliverables against tight transaction timelines, ensuring lender-ready outputs.
- Contribute to business development through market presence, client relationships, and proposal leadership.
What You'll Bring
- 5–10 years’ experience in technical advisory, project finance, or developer/owner roles.
- Broad understanding of wind, solar, and storage project risks (technical and commercial).
- Experience with renewable energy contractual structures and financial model integration of technical findings.
- Experience managing or contributing significantly to Lenders’ Technical Advisor or M&A Technical Due Diligence mandate is an asset.
- Familiarity with Irish, UK, or North American renewable energy markets (depending on location)
- Recognised network and credibility with lenders, investors, and/or developers is an asset.
- Engineering or technical background preferred; MBA or finance knowledge an asset.
