The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers in the delivery of patient-centered pain care. This role assists with patient assessments, interventional procedures, medication management support, and documentation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and clinic-specific regulations. The MA functions as an integral member of the care team in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment.
We are seeking to hire a seasoned Travel Medical Assistant to support our clinics in North and South Carolina. Essential Duties
- Travel, by air or car to various clinic locations daily
- Lead and direct work of clinic medical assistants
- Serve as critical link for the physicians to handle all of their electronic medical records patient to patient
- Observe how our physicians approach a patient visit, how they interpret symptoms, and help each patient
- Interpret and document the doctor patient visit and the clinical charting of each patient in its entirety
- Provide EHR Charting Support directly for Physicians as a Medical Assistant in Real Time
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients
- Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services
- Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history
- Assist in the administration of injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments
- Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Strong computer, typing, and listening skills
- Experience in EHR documentation with outpatient clinics
- Strong Leadership skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- 100% travel required
- Other duties as assigned
