Role Summary
We are hiring a skilled Electrical Field Service Engineer to support the deployment and ongoing service of critical power distribution systems within data center environments.
This position is well-suited for a hands-on professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex electrical systems, working in the field, and delivering high-quality service directly to customers. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability while acting as a trusted technical resource onsite.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSystem Installation & Startup
- Perform installation and assist with startup of power distribution equipment in data centers
- Participate in commissioning activities, including system validation and functional testing
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot HMIs and control systems
- Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to 3-phase electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage equipment
- Analyze electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings
- Conduct structured root-cause analysis in active, mission-critical environments
- Act as the primary technical representative at customer sites
- Coordinate with engineering and internal support teams to resolve technical challenges
- Provide basic operational training to end users and maintenance staff
- Deliver clear updates and service summaries both verbally and in writing
- Complete detailed service documentation and reports
- Identify patterns in equipment issues and recommend improvements
- Track service activities, parts usage, and labor in internal systems
- Contribute to development of service procedures and training resources
- 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical maintenance, or a related role
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with 24V, 120V, and 480V systems, including breakers, fuses, and transformers
- Basic understanding of PLC diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Willingness to travel extensively (75%+), including occasional short-notice assignments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Background working with data center electrical infrastructure
- Experience with UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, or similar equipment
- Involvement in equipment commissioning or startup
- OSHA certification or formal safety training
- A self-directed and reliable problem-solver
- Comfortable working independently in field environments
- Professional and confident in customer-facing situations
