LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE
FT Sunday-Thursday 2:00pm-10:30pm.
Who you are:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the daily functioning of health care needs of the residents within the Community. This includes supervising the resident assistants, assurance of a safe medication delivery system and the training of new staff.
What you will do:
- Reviews and documents daily in the communication log as appropriate.
- Reviews new orders and the MAR throughout the shift.
- Reviews and performs the transcription process, medication delivery, equipment ordering, pharmacy ordering, pharmacy cycle fill as directed by the RN. Corrects discrepancies and reported discrepancies to the RN.
- Performs resident care coordination and communication with outside agencies and medical providers.
- Ensures and reviews the alert charting system
- Reviews and uses the incident reporting system as directed.
- Reviews and assures cleanliness and organization of the medication room.
- Reviews and assists with resident care as needed.
- Performs medication pass as directed.
- Reviews and documents on the service plan and progress notes as needed.
- Attends service plan review(s) as needed.
- Reviews and responds to facility the facility RN audit to ensure compliance.
- Assists and/or conducts the orientation process for new employees, as directed.
- 14) Performs all other duties as assigned by any member of management.
What you bring:
- Ability to utilize basic management skills.
- Provides and coordinates resident care utilizing the principles of Assisted Living per the Boarding Home Rules of Washington State.
- Maintains adequate attendance record, notifies supervisor if late or unable to work in accordance with the personnel policies.
- Requires minimal supervision. Is a self-starter and flexible. Organizes and utilizes time appropriately, sets priorities and accomplishes assigned tasks.
- Displays mature and professional behavior in attitude, speech, and action.
- Keeps resident information confidential, respects resident rights, respects privacy and the right to self-determination by the residents.
- Works cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Abides by policies and procedures in the facility. Looks for ways to improve facility function.
- Is accurate and dependable, neat, and thorough in assigned tasks.
- Can communicate effectively verbally, and in writing.
Universal Precautions: Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.
Physical Requirements:
- Has the ability to stand for long periods of time on feet and ambulate quickly.
- Push and pull wheelchairs and other equipment as needed.
- Ability to assist with transferring residents as needed.
- Ability to lift, push or pull 40 pounds.
- Bending, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level necessary.
Training and Experience:
Current active license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Arizona is necessary. Previous work with the elderly population recommended. Previous work as a Licensed Practical Nurse is desirable. Maintains CPR certification. Knowledge and experience with Universal Precautions necessary.
