Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard Driver to join our team. The Yard Driver will be responsible for moving trailers and containers within the yard, ensuring that freight is loaded and unloaded efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of truck driving operations, including the ability to operate various types of vehicles such as flatbeds and tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have experience in route driving and possess a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Duties

• Safely operate yard trucks, including flatbed and roll-off trucks, to move freight within the yard.
• Load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
• Ensure that all trailers are parked in designated areas and are properly secured.
• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and freight handling.
• Collaborate with dispatchers and warehouse staff to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred; experience with truck driving is essential.
• Proven experience operating flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar vehicles.
• Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for freight.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management.
