N Street Village Program Associate (Full‑Time, Day Shift)

📍 Washington, DC (Onsite – Bethany Women Center Day Program, 1333 N St NW, Washington, DC 20005 – Flagship)
🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (8‑hour shifts)
💼 Status: Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt
👥 Reports To: Program Manager

✨ The Opportunity

The Program Associate is an essential member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct services to women participating in N Street Village programs, including day services, low‑barrier shelter, temporary shelter, and permanent supportive housing.

In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment while assisting with daily program operations at the Bethany Women Center Day Program.

🛠️ What You’ll Do
  • Build positive rapport with clients through routine engagement and communication
  • Assist with daily program setup, including meals, toiletries, laundry and shower supplies, and activity materials
  • Support program close‑out activities, including cleaning and resetting day program spaces
  • Serve meals and assist with program intakes and initial health and wellness screenings
  • Respond to immediate client needs and help de‑escalate crisis situations
  • Complete program documentation, including daily activity logs, monthly reports, and incident reports
  • Support care coordination tasks such as referrals for services and residency forms
  • Immediately report serious incidents, allegations, or sensitive information to the Program Manager
  • Collaborate with volunteers and partner agencies providing services to clients
  • Participate in program team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Participate in program quality improvement efforts
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
✅ Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of direct social services experience, OR
  • High school diploma/equivalent and 2 years of direct social services experience,
  • Ability to pass a drug screening within 48 hours of offer and complete all required compliance documentation prior to start date
🌱 Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including addiction and mental illness
  • Familiarity with DC’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and issues related to homelessness
  • Commitment to inclusive service regardless of race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
  • Experience with or interest in learning data visualization tools
