Mechanical Technician II at crabi-robotics.com – Medford, Massachusetts

We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician to support the build, testing, and integration of electromechanical assemblies for the CRABI marine robot. This role is hands-on and diverse, involving everything from machining and assembly to calibration and shop management. You’ll work closely with engineers to bring precision mechanical systems to life.

Job Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
• CNC machining using mills, lathes, and general shop equipment.
• Rapid prototyping of custom jigs and fixtures to support assembly.
• Maintenance, organization, and operation of the CRABI machine shop.

Required Qualifications

• Exposure to manual milling and lathe operation.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies.
• Must be able to work safely around strong magnetic fields (no ferrous implants or other contraindications).
• Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.
• A learning attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic CAD proficiency (Siemens NX preferred).
• CNC mill/lathe programming.
• Welding or fabrication experience.
• Prior experience building or testing precision mechanical subassemblies.

CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $28 – $35 per hour.
