Responsibilities

Purpose:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on qualifying fabricated sheet metal (Cut/bend/weld) and machined components for their use in complex assemblies, qualifying through both design and functionality. This role requires the use of hand inspection tools, critical thinking, and dynamic problem-solving skills to maintain high-quality standards.

Essential Duties:

Primary responsibilities

· Perform detailed inspections of fabricated sheet metal and machined components using hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface plates, and tape measures. Prepare and communicate defect reports as found.

· Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure components meet design requirements.

· Assess parts based on functional requirements, identifying and documenting any undocumented criteria and making informed pass/fail decisions.

· Provide constructive feedback to engineering teams regarding drawing improvements and potential design enhancements.

· Lead the material defect process (MRR) to guide teams in corrective and preventative actions, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

· Ownership of JBT-MAREL Supplied Gage Process; including stocking levels, procurement and maintaining calibration standards.

· Develop and recommend improvements to internal quality processes using SMART objective framework (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timebound). Examples include improvement suggestions for inspection equipment, quality checklists, and inspection frequency.

Job Requirements:

Travel

· Minimal/Limited (Trainings/Meetings as required)

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector or similar role in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on sheet metal and machined components.

· Proficiency in using hand inspection tools and interpreting technical drawings.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make informed decisions.

· Effective communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate with engineering and production teams.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in using Microsoft Products (Teams, Excel, Powerpoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

· BS Degree OR 3-5 Years on the job experience in a related field. Industry-standard quality certification (ASQ CQI or equivalent) a plus.

· Proficiency in using ERP Systems (Syteline)

· Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives.

· Knowledge of calibration standards and quality assurance best practices.

· Office (20%)/ Manufacturing Environment (80%)

· Onsite. Remote work is not available for this position

Physical Demands:

Position requires walking, bending, climbing, stooping and moderate lifting daily.

Must be comfortable working in manufacturing environments. Able to lift 50 pounds.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $24 - $28 dollars an hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications and prior experience.
