About This Position
Metrodoc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate X-Ray Technician to join our team in Belleville, NJ. In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures and support the overall operations of our urgent care clinic. Key Responsibilities:Patient Imaging: Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures as requested by the physician. This includes preparing and positioning patients, explaining the procedure to ensure cooperation, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimal views.
Radiation Safety: Strictly adhere to radiation protection protocols to minimize exposure for both patients and staff. Use protective shielding and follow all safety procedures.
Image Processing & Quality Control: Process images, review them for proper identification and quality, and prepare them for review by the physician. You may also need to contact additional physicians for second opinions.
Administrative Duties: Serve as a medical registration receptionist when needed, greet patients, and prepare necessary forms, records, and reports.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on imaging equipment, troubleshoot minor malfunctions, and coordinate with repair services for more complex issues.
General Clinic Support: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, stock supplies, and assist the physician with patient treatments and other duties as required.
Education: An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Experience: Six months to one year of related experience is preferred, particularly in an urgent care or similar fast-paced clinical environment.
Certifications:
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registered or board-eligible status is preferred.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is also preferred.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with patients of all ages, who may be stressed or in pain.
Strong attention to detail and precision in following medical orders and procedures.
Technical proficiency in operating digital imaging equipment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with lifting or moving patients.
Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
