Jackman Eye Institute is seeking a dedicated Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician to join our growing team. We are open to full time or part time candidates. The MDR Technician plays a key role in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared in accordance with CSA standards and facility policies. What You Will Be Doing

  • Cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and CSA standards.
  • Operating sterilizers and other medical reprocessing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conducting biological and chemical testing to ensure the effectiveness of sterilization.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sterilizer loads and quality control documentation.
  • Inspecting instruments for functionality and setting aside non-operational items for repair.
  • Managing sterile storage areas and ensuring items are rotated and tracked appropriately.
  • Supporting nurses and physicians by providing sterile instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Adhering to infection control and safety regulations at all times.

What You Will Bring

  • Completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Course from a recognized institution or College.
  • CSA certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
