This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of multi-line property damage and transportation-related insurance claims, ensuring accurate investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement in line with best practices and regulatory standards. The position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can independently manage a diverse caseload while maintaining strong communication with policyholders, claimants, and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring timely and fair claim resolution while balancing cost control and customer satisfaction. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring strong organizational discipline and sound judgment. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in transportation and specialty insurance claims within a growing and mission-driven organization. Accountabilities:
  • Conduct prompt and thorough investigations of claims by engaging with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, law enforcement, agents, and experts to determine liability, damages, and exposure.
  • Gather and document critical evidence, including recorded statements and supporting claim materials, to ensure accurate claim evaluation.
  • Manage a structured diary system to ensure timely handling, follow-up, and resolution of all assigned claims.
  • Perform coverage analysis based on policy interpretation and communicate findings clearly to insureds and claimants.
  • Negotiate and settle claims efficiently while identifying cost-effective resolution strategies and alternative settlement options.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations and internal claims handling standards throughout the lifecycle of each case.
  • Maintain accurate reserves, control indemnity and expense management, and ensure proper claim disposition.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in claims handling or insurance-related roles preferred, with exposure to multi-line or transportation claims a plus.
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain required state adjuster licenses as applicable.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to assess liability and damages accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general claims or case management systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
