About This Position
Description:
Job Description: Works with the Engineering team and Operations departments to improve efficiency and quality as well as engineering components with some 3D part creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of boat components and systems using CAD software (Solidworks).
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of engineering designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, design, prototyping, product integration, and lamination.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within production and assembly operations.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues on the production floor or in prototyping.
- Navigate and work within complex CAD assemblies.
- Develop jigs and fixtures
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success in this Position:
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Must be available for 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Some knowledge of CAD applications is desirable (AutoCAD, Rhino, VCarve, NX).
- Experience with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM.
- Experience with 3D Printing
- Familiarity with composites, fiberglass, or marine systems
- Manufacturing experience desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
- Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
