About This Position

Job Title: Home Repair Technician I
Reports To: Home Repair Program Supervisor
Scheduled Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hrs. per week)
FLSA Status Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Purpose of Position:

To assist the Home Repair program by addressing various types of work orders including chore related repairs and home safety modifications for older adult occupied households.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintains and develops proficiency with the Work Order Home Repair CRM program.
  • Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with quoted completion time.
  • Receives and processes verbal, written, telephone and electronic communications in a timely, competent, and professional manner.
  • Coordinates daily assignments, as required, with division, agency staff, and partnering organizations.
  • Maintains accurate databases; prepares accurate and timely reports and documents.
  • Adheres to documentation requirements for agency and funding sources.
  • Be able to perform Home Safety evaluations – training provided.
  • Ability to work with typical hand, construction, and power tools.
  • Home Repair employees are required to sign in to Workiz for every job they perform according to the appropriate funding grant or private pay.
  • Performs all other Home Repair duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to handle basic trouble shooting while on job site.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
  • Phone skills, data entry/keyboarding skills, knowledge of copiers, and knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel required.
  • Valid State of Michigan driver license and reliable transportation required.
  • Good filing skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production and office environment.
  • Physical requirements: able to lift 60 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Exempt position with starting hourly pay of $19.04 - $21.76 , based on experience level
