Professional Services, Category Execution Support (Sr. Analyst)

As category execution support, you will partner closely with key stakeholders to execute sourcing strategies related to your category in your remit.

This role will be specific to the professional services category and will be expected to be more of a specialist in this area.

Accountabilities



Category Execution Support

• Execute the category strategy for assigned category, collaborating with key stakeholders, team members, and leaders affected by the respective category

• Develop RfX

• Provide input to the Category Performance framework and provide metrics related to category performance and continuously track & monitor

• Populate the category cards detailing overall category strategies, preferred suppliers, and business unit requirements for execution; execute to ensure category health is tracking per strategy/goals/plan

• Identify areas of opportunity to reduce waste and establish reduction targets; Identify and execute implementation of continuous improvement/cost

• Establishing strong relationships with internal business partners; building a robust understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories; Rationalize specification

• Execute the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.

• Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintain sourcing ethics in accordance with News Corp's global policies & methodologies

• Work with senior cross-functional internal customers as well as the Business Sourcing Partner to define detailed business requirements with designated business units, prioritizing business requirements and taking them through approval process

• Execute change management within designated business units to increase utilization of best practices sourcing and procurement solutions

• Assists the Business Sourcing Partner in business unit capacity and demand planning forecasting customer business unit demand

Vendor Management (Evaluation, Negotiation, Selection, Qualification)

• Support the evaluation, negotiation, selection and qualification of vendors

• Support the negotiation of contracts with selected suppliers leveraging tools/technology or supplier contract template including but not limited to Software as a Service, comprehensive Master Services Agreements, Master License and Service Agreement, Statement of Work, Amendments, etc. and negotiation of global preferred supplier agreements, following the legal guidelines.

• Execute SOWs of complex and strategic nature through creation to approval

• Manage escalations to the legal department appropriately, as needed

• Partner with the contract management team regularly

Critical Experiences | Competencies | Abilities

• Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or equivalent experience required, MBA is a plus

• Minimum 3 years of global sourcing experience, specifically the Professional Services Category

• Minimum 2-3 years demonstrated track record of people management leadership experience is required

• Minimum 2-3 years of sourcing transformation experience (e.g., significant prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management)

• Certification in Procurement such as CPSM or CSCP, preferred

• Embraces fact-based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling

• Proven written and oral communicator, with strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills to act as an effective change agent, unlocking barriers to value for priority spend categories

• Expert negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.

• Strong project management skills, including adhering to stakeholder timelines, and meeting management skills

• Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.

• Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization, and works easily in multi-business unit project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries.

• Contract drafting experience as well as excellent understanding of contractual terms, both commercially and legally.
