Job Summary

The Cutting Associate is responsible for accurately cutting fabric and materials used in garment and product manufacturing according to production patterns and specifications. This role requires precision, consistency, and adherence to safety standards to ensure that materials are prepared efficiently for downstream sewing and assembly operations. The Cutting Associate works closely with the Cutting Lead and production teams to support daily manufacturing schedules.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lay out, align, and cut fabrics using manual or automated cutting equipment according to production patterns.
• Verify fabric type, pattern accuracy, and layout efficiency prior to cutting.
• Inspect materials for defects, color variances, or damage before processing.
• Label and organize cut components for distribution to appropriate sewing or assembly areas.
• Maintain accurate production records for cut quantities, material usage, and waste.
• Clean, sharpen, and maintain cutting tools and equipment as required.
• Follow all safety procedures related to blade handling and cutting machine operation.
• Assist in cycle counting and fabric inventory management.
• Collaborate with team members to support process improvements and workflow efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to read.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for handling industrial cutting tools and equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated or computerized fabric cutting systems.
• Knowledge of fabric types, stretch properties, and pattern alignment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Work performed in a production and cutting environment with exposure to fabric dust, cutting tools, and moderate noise.
• Requires standing, bending, and repetitive hand motions for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and move fabric rolls and materials up to 50 lbs.
• PPE and adherence to safety protocols are required.
