About the position:
As a Respite Enrollment Specialist, you will ensure that new clients and their families experience a welcoming, accessible, and respectful introduction to services. You will guide them through each step of the enrollment process, coordinate early-stage communication and meetings, conduct initial assessments, and help set each person up for long-term success. Your work will directly support program quality and uphold The Arc’s values of dignity, inclusion, and person-centered support.
What You'll Do:
Referral Management
- Implement and maintain best practices for receiving and reviewing referrals.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and organized referral documentation.
- Verify that enrollment criteria are met in a consistent and respectful manner.
Enrollment Process
- Develop, update, and maintain accessible enrollment and welcome materials.
- Send supportive, clear communications to new families.
- Schedule and coordinate introductory meetings with families and staff.
Assessment
- Maintain standardized, culturally responsive assessment tools.
- Conduct comprehensive enrollment assessments with individuals and families.
What You'll Bring:
- 2-3 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred, especially in languages commonly spoken in the community.
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and person-centered practices.
- Ability to travel locally and work onsite in our Chico office.
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass a post offer pre-employment background check, non- arduous physical, drug/TB screen
- Ability to travel locally to meet with clients, partners, or attend events, if applicable.
- Ability to work in various environments, including office and community settings.
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing, walking, or assisting individuals with mobility needs, if applicable.
- Work environment may include exposure to pet allergens. The Arc maintains a pet-friendly culture, and animals (such as the office cat) may occasionally be present in the workplace. Employees may also encounter pet allergens through donated items or community environments.
