About This Position
Description
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall management, direction, and performance of the Housekeeping Department. This position ensures compliance with Embassy Suites by Hilton brand standards, company policies, and applicable health and safety regulations while consistently delivering a high level of guest satisfaction. The Executive Housekeeper oversees all housekeeping operations, including staffing, training, budgeting, inventory control, and quality assurance.

To manage and ensure all facets of the housekeeping department ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction. This includes all guest rooms and public areas, department storage areas and work areas. Consistently meet brand expectations while maximizing labor productivity, controlling expenses, and leading a high-performing team.
What will you do?
Department Leadership
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Housekeeping Department, including supervisors, room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline team members in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Establish and manage departmental schedules to align staffing levels with forecasted occupancy and operational demands.
- Promote accountability, professionalism, and adherence to company standards at all levels of the department.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet or exceed Embassy Suites by Hilton cleanliness, presentation, and quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify compliance with brand, safety, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to ensure efficient room readiness and prompt resolution of maintenance or guest service issues.
- Monitor productivity standards and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and delivery of service.
Guest Satisfaction
- Oversee the handling and resolution of guest concerns related to housekeeping in a timely and professional manner.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving guest satisfaction scores and brand performance metrics.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Prepare and manage the Housekeeping Department budget, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
- Monitor labor costs and productivity to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of linens, amenities, chemicals, and equipment while implementing cost-control measures.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards and chemical safety requirements.
- Maintain and enforce proper safety procedures, training, and documentation (including SDS).
- Ensure adherence to lost-and-found policies and internal control procedures.

Schedule & Hours:
Days and hours will vary based on business needs. This is an Exempt Salary Position.

Requirements:Physical Demands: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Use of manual dexterity of common office equipment, such as but not limited to computers, printers, phone, etc. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Mathematical Development: Compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission, markups and selling price; ratio and proportion, and percentages. Calculate surface, volumes, weights, and measures.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of housekeeping management experience in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, requirements, and use of equipment.
- Effective written and verbal communication, skills exercising patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures with staff.
