About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Field-Based Medical Advisor plays a critical role in driving medical engagement, evidence generation, and clinical education in the field of rare oncology and medical device-based Interventional oncology. This position serves as the company’s scientific and clinical expert, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and treatment centers. The role bridges science, clinical practice, and technology to support safe, effective, and evidence-based adoption of innovative oncology devices.
Scientific & Clinical Engagement
- Build and maintain strong, peer-to-peer scientific relationships with oncologists, interventional radiologist, anesthetist and cancer networks.
- Engage in non-promotional scientific exchange regarding disease states, mechanisms of action, and emerging evidence.
- Support scientific symposia, advisory boards, and investigator meetings, ensuring alignment with company strategy.
- Provide field-based clinical support for device implementation and usage within regulatory boundaries.
Evidence Generation & Research Support
- Contribute to investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and real-world evidence (RWE) projects, from concept to execution.
- Liaise with research centers to ensure smooth study conduct, ethical compliance, and accurate data capture.
- Identify opportunities for collaborative research and data publication.
- Provide medical input into clinical study protocols, case reports, and congress abstracts.
Education & Training
- Deliver scientific presentations and device-focused education to clinical teams and hospital staff.
- Support the development of educational programs and materials addressing unmet needs in rare oncology.
- Serve as a trusted scientific resource during pre-launch and post-launch phases of new products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with market access, HEOR, commercial, and regulatory colleagues to ensure medical alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide scientific and clinical input into reimbursement submissions and technology appraisals.
- Support medical training for internal teams (sales, access, and clinical specialists).
- Contribute to promotional review and scientific validation processes where applicable.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full adherence to ABPI, EFPIA, and MedTech Europe Codes of Practice.
- Accurately document all HCP interactions, insights, and activities in company systems.
- Maintain high ethical standards and uphold patient safety at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc, or equivalent).
3–5+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs within oncology, rare diseases, or medical devices. - In-depth knowledge of oncology, rare cancers, and related clinical pathways.
- Proven experience in KOL management, scientific engagement, and clinical education.
- Strong understanding of oncology care pathways, device evaluation processes, and hospital technology adoption.
- Understanding of medical device technology, procedure workflows, and evidence interpretation.
- Ability to present complex data in a clear and clinically relevant manner.
- Experience with clinical research, RWE, or IIS support preferred.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (60–80% of time).

The Northern EU Medical Advisor has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Advanced level English (written and spoken).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Numerate. Familiar with creating and/or interpreting spreadsheets and graphs, and their application in forecasting, budgeting and accounting.
