About the Role
Above Expectations is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help ensure our homes remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for the individuals we serve.

What You'll Do
As our Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping a portfolio of residential properties—including homes operated by Above Expectations and affiliated properties—in safe, well-maintained condition.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing service requests across multiple homes, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs
- Performing preventive and routine maintenance to keep properties in top condition
- Handling general property upkeep, including cleaning, trash removal, and snow removal
- Installing, repairing, or replacing equipment and appliances
- Performing carpentry, flooring, painting, drywall repair, and other general maintenance tasks
- Responding to on-call emergency issues outside of regular business hours
- Working to resolve maintenance requests within 24 hours whenever possible
- Communicating clearly with team members regarding progress and needs
- Maintaining accurate records of work orders, maintenance activities, and ongoing projects
- Using a mobile app to receive, track, and document work orders
- Working independently across multiple residential properties and locations throughout the day
- Company-provided transportation will be used for travel between assigned work locations throughout the day
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and takes ownership of their work.
- 3–5 years of building maintenance or construction experience
- Skilled in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, drywall, painting, snow removal and general repairs
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Availability for on-call emergency coverage as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to report to base location
- Ability to work in the U.S. without restriction
Schedule, Work Environment & Physical Expectations
This is a full-time position that typically operates Monday through Friday during standard daytime hours, with flexibility based on operational needs.
- Regular work hours will generally fall within a daytime schedule; however, start and end times may vary depending on workload and priorities
- This position requires availability to respond to urgent maintenance issues outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Work is performed across multiple residential properties, both indoors and outdoors, and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions
- This role requires a high level of independence, organization, and the ability to manage tasks across different locations throughout the day
Physical Expectations:
This role requires regular physical activity and the ability to perform maintenance tasks in a variety of environments. The Maintenance Technician must be able to:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally more with assistance
- Use hands and tools to perform repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks
- Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather
- Perform tasks that may require reaching overhead or working in tight or confined spaces
- Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
- Travel between multiple work locations throughout the day
