Position Summary:
The Project Engineer / Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of Data Center construction and infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on project scheduling and controls.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules while also supporting engineering coordination and field execution. The ideal candidate will bridge technical project knowledge with scheduling expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with Applied Digital standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to define project scope, sequencing, and durations
- Monitor schedule performance, identify variances, and provide recovery plans or mitigation strategies
- Perform critical path analysis and provide regular schedule updates and reporting
- Support the execution of Data Center construction and infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout
- Assist in reviewing engineering designs, specifications, and submittals for alignment with project timelines
- Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Operations, Safety) and external stakeholders to ensure schedule adherence
- Track procurement timelines, long-lead equipment, and delivery schedules to align with construction milestones
- Maintain and organize project documentation, including schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Participate in site walks, inspections, and commissioning activities to validate schedule progress
- Support change management efforts by analyzing schedule impacts and updating project timelines accordingly
- Generate and present schedule reports, dashboards, and executive summaries
- Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling standards, templates, and project controls processes
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7+ years of experience in project engineering, scheduling, or project controls (Data Center or mission-critical experience preferred)
- Hands-on experience developing and managing construction schedules
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 (preferred), MS Project, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project lifecycles, and critical path methodology (CPM)
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or industrial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

- Proactive problem-solving mindset with strong attention to risk identification
- High level of accountability and ownership
- Strong measurement discipline: defining KPIs, setting baselines, establishing dashboards, and quantifying ROI.
- Master’s degree in a technical or business field (e.g., CS, Data Science, Engineering, MBA) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
