Job Description
HBD is looking for qualified and caring Direct Support Professionals to join our team! We have 9 locations throughout Broward County, Florida that provide residential and day services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with intensive behavior challenges.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will engage with clients and be responsible for ensuring their safety and well-being. DSPs will ensure that behavioral supports are provided to enhance social opportunities and promote achievement of desired life goals. Maintaining confidentiality and understanding HIPPA standards is required.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and support to ensure health and safety
- Skill training and support in daily living activities
- Community integration
- Behavioral interventions and implementation
- Assist individuals on medical appointments
- Medication dispensing

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Requirements:- Mimimum of one year of experience providing direct services in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, child care setting OR working with persons who have developmental disabilities required
- High school diploma/GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, reach, bend, and squat
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to other locations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish, Creole) a plus
